Frequently Asked Questions
Questions, answered simply.
Location & Availability
No, I don't have a physical office. All sessions are held by secure telehealth video, which lets me work with clients anywhere in California.
I'm licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California only. That means telehealth video sessions are available exclusively to clients who are physically located within California at the time of the session — it's a licensing requirement, not a personal preference. If you're outside California, I'm glad to help point you toward a licensed therapist in your state.
Pricing & Insurance
Individual sessions are $300. I'm an out-of-network provider, meaning I don't bill insurance directly, but I can provide documentation (a superbill) for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance plan.
ACH bank transfer, American Express, cash, check, HSA cards, Mastercard, PayPal, and Visa.
I'm an out-of-network provider. I don't bill insurance directly, but many clients successfully use out-of-network benefits with a superbill I can provide upon request.
Under the No Surprises Act, if you're uninsured or choose not to use your insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your first session, and any time you request one, at no cost. Learn more at cms.gov/nosurprises.

Specialties & Approach
My top areas of focus are anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I also work with trauma and PTSD, grief, life transitions, couples counseling, self-esteem, addiction, anger management, codependency, mood disorders, OCD, sex therapy, sexual abuse recovery, spirituality, substance use, and LGBTQ+-affirming care. See Relationships and The Self for more detail.
Yes. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, with real experience in relationship and intimacy issues, communication repair, and couples counseling.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I'm trained and legally regulated to assess and treat mental health conditions, trauma, and relationship dynamics, and I can provide documentation for insurance reimbursement. Relationship coaches aren't licensed clinicians and generally focus on goal-setting rather than clinical treatment. If you want evidence-based, licensed care in California, therapy is the right path; my Programs and Membership offer a coaching-style, educational alternative available nationwide.
Yes. Attachment patterns — anxious, avoidant, and secure — and codependency are common areas of focus in both individual and couples work. See Relationships and The Self for more on how attachment theory informs my approach, or read Understanding Your Attachment Style for a fuller breakdown.
Yes, my practice is LGBTQ+ affirming.
Yes, I'm fluent in both English and Spanish and can conduct sessions in either language.
Live Circle & Credentials
No. Live Circle is a paid, educational and community discussion gathering, not group psychotherapy or a clinical service. It does not replace individual or couples treatment.
